Abstract

Cash foundations that are founded by devoting cash money have been attracting the attention of academics and practitioners for many years since they contain an important historical experience for both Ottoman economic history and Islamic economics research. The studies related to cash foundations in Turkey dates to the early Republican era as 1930. In our country, although the studies carry the title ""cash foundation"" are very few, the works of the article have been observed with increasing momentum especially since the 2000s. Studies on cash foundations are generally carried out in the context of Islamic law, Islamic economics history, Turkish economic history, and Turkish finance history, and are compared with current participation banking. Especially in recent years, it has been observed that the article studies on the cash foundations established in Ottoman provinces have increased. This study aims to make out the inventory of researches in Turkey on cash foundations from the beginning till present and to make a general assessment of these studies.
