The study aims to reveal the effects of Robot/Technological Tour Guides (R/TTG), which are a reflection of technological developments in tourism, on the tourist guiding profession and Human Tour Guides (HTG) from the perspective of ChatGPT-4.1. The responses provided by ChatGPT-4.1 to the eight study questions were analyzed using descriptive analysis, a qualitative research method. As a result of the analysis conducted; a) R/TTGs have the effect of reducing the need for HTGs but not completely eliminating them, b) Overall, R/TTGs are perceived as potential occupational threats but are expected to complement rather than replace human tourist guides, c) The effect of R/TTGs on HTGs’ job satisfaction depends on their perceived role as competitors or complements, d) R/TTGs will be able to provide guiding service in open areas within 2 to 5 years, e) R/TTGs’ substitutive or complementary role significantly influences HTGs’ business performance, f) R/TTGs affects motivation of HTGs depending on whether it is perceived as a threat or a strategic partner, g) The preference for R/TTGs or HTGs varies according to tourist preferences, h) There will be both R/TTGs and HTGs in the tourist guide profession in the future.
