Abstract

The unpredictable business environment has made it necessary for organizations to act politically to achieve their goals. Organizational politics is shaped by the perceptions of employees. A general evaluation of the attitude and perception in the work environment by employees reveals job satisfaction. Based on the idea that organizational political behaviors will cause injustice among employees, it is thought that the perception of organizational politics may cause job dissatisfaction. In this study, it is the aim to investigate the relationship between perceived organizational politics and job satisfaction by meta-analysis method. The literature review part of the study was conducted between January 15, 2024, and February 20, 2024. Articles, theses, and dissertations prepared between January 1, 2000, and February 2024 in Ulakbim TR Index, Higher Education Council (YÖK) National Thesis Center, EBSCO, Dergipark, and Google Scholar databases were scanned. The keywords ""perceived organizational politics"", ""organizational politics"", ""perception of organizational politics"", ""job satisfaction"", and ""relationship between organizational politics and job satisfaction"" were used in the scans. Based on the inclusion criteria, it was decided that 8 studies were appropriate and the analysis was carried out on these studies. Jamovi (Version 2.4) MAJOR-Meta-Analysis statistical program was used to analyze the data. The total sample size of these 8 studies was 4139 people. As a result of the meta-analysis, it was found that there was a negative and statistically significant relationship between perceived organizational politics and job satisfaction ES=-0.327 (z = -5.7939, p < 0.0001).
