Abstract

Artificial intelligence literacy increases awareness and effectiveness regarding its use, as it includes technological knowledge, scientific knowledge and socio-ethical skills. The aim of this research is to determine the current status of university students regarding artificial intelligence literacy and to determine whether it differs in terms of some variables. The research utilized the quantitative research method-based screening and relational screening model. In order to obtain research data, data were collected from 392 university students using the Artificial Intelligence Literacy Scale, which was developed by Wang et al. (2023) and adapted into Turkish by Polatgil and Güler (2023). In the light of the descriptive analysis findings such as ANOVA and T-Test, it was determined that the students' artificial intelligence literacy level was above average. According to the analysis findings obtained, it was determined that artificial intelligence literacy differed according to age and level of using technology. However, it was revealed that it did not differ in terms of variables such as class level, monthly expenditure, gender, having a computer and time spent on the phone. It is expected that the research results will contribute to the review and development of the situation regarding the use of artificial intelligence literacy.
