A SYSTEMATİC ANALYSİS OF STUDİES ON WOMEN ACADEMİCS: SCOPUS DATABASE EXAMPLE

In this study, the bibliometric features of research on women academics were analyzed with the Biblioshiny interface in the R programming language. The trends and developments of the studies on women academics were determined through the publications in the Scopus database, and the findings were visualized and interpreted with the bibliometric analysis method. Within the scope of the study, answers were sought to questions such as the year, author, subject, country and university-based development levels of the studies on women academics, what the most effective studies on the subject were, and which concepts were developed.According to the results of the analysis, it was determined that there were 998 articles in 626 journals between 1975 and 2021 on women academics. These articles were produced by 2747 authors. While the annual average number of articles produced on female academics is 12.5, 96 articles were written in 2021 The Journal of Women's Health was the journal with the most articles on the subject, while the most prolific author was Morahan, P. The country with the highest number of articles on the subject was America with 367 authors and 1219 articles. The keywords frequently used by the authors were gender, higher education, leadership, academy, academic performance, education, academic achievement, faculty, and female academics. The most studied trend topics regarding female academics in recent years are concepts such as discrimination, gender inequality, gender equality and promotion.
