Abstract

In addition to geography, different many factors enforce to have independent and powerful defense industry. Because nationally produced weapons and equipment is provide not only reducing dependence on foreign countries, but also contributing to the national economy. Moreover the country gains power and dignity. In recent years, Major developments have been achieved on the national defense industry in the context of meeting the needs of security forces. However, to be able to survive in the long term and compete with the major actors of the global market, it is necessary to increase the investments in R&D and advanced technology and to increase the cooperation between the universities and the companies in the process. In this study, the participants were selected from defense industry firms in six different cities. And participants' perceptions have been studied related to nationalization in the defense industry and the university industry cooperation. Also the state of the sector after the recent structural changes has been examined.
