THIRD SECTOR ANALYSIS IN SOCIAL WORK PRACTICES FOR ASYLUM SEEKERS AND REFUGEES IN TURKEY

Organizations, which enable people to participate in activities in the public on a voluntary basis without profit, such as associations, foundations, unions, communities, federations, confederations and platforms are generally defined as the third sector. As a living organism, the third sector emerges as a result of influences by all the developments, and after a while, it becomes the main factor of social development and progress, leading to the emergence of new developments and changes. The purpose of this research is to analyze the third sector providing services for asylum seekers and refugees in Turkey as a way of social service. The data of the research was collected by visiting the websites of third sector institutions / organizations that are active in this context. In the study; a total of 51 different institutions / organizations; 29 associations (56.86%), 12 foundations (23.52%), four unions (7.84%), three confederations (5.88%) and three platforms (5.88%) were analyzed. For the data analysis; content analysis, one of the techniques commonly used in qualitative research, was used. The findings were presented under the sub-headings of associations, foundations, unions, confederations and platforms.
