Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between empathy level and life satisfaction among young people. The Empathy Quotient (Lawrence et al., 2004) and Satisfaction with Life Scale (Diener, Emmons, Larsen and Griffin,1985) were used as data collection tools. It was observed that the mean score of empathy level of the participants was slightly below the high level. According to the results of the study, it is observed that the life satisfaction of young people is moderate. It was determined that the life satisfaction of individuals with high empathic skills increases. Thus, it is thought that examining the relationship between life satisfaction and empathy, which is one of the important indicators for increasing public welfare, will make contributions to the literature.
