Since the regime change in 1979, relations between Iran and the United States have culminated to a point of hostility and Rouhani administration, starting from such like a point,aimed at a normalization. At the face of domestic and international crises, conservative president Rouhani, followed a pragmatic path, in an attempt to protect the Islamic system and national security.Seeking to remove economic sanctions and embargoes through solving the nuclear problem, Rouhani’s foreign policy was based on a “moderate change”. By introducing a discourse moderation in foreign policy. Rouhani moved away from securitization policies and focused on resolving economic problems and the people’s demands for freedom. The aim of the paper is to evaluate the relations between Iran and the United States in the Hassan Rouhani era, with reference to the broader historical, political and socio-economic framework.
