Abstract

Selecting the right personnel is a critical task for the organization to achieve its goals. The fulfillment of this task, which is under the responsibility of human resources management, includes a challenging process consisting of various stages. Multi-criteria decision-making techniques are frequently used in personnel selection problem in order to minimize the decision-maker bias and facilitate the highly complex evaluation process. In this study, 12 techniques used in personnel selection in the Turkish literature were evaluated and the differences between them were emphasized. In addition, quantitative techniques used in determining the criteria weights that have a direct effect on the evaluation results are also mentioned. Suggestions were made to the relevant researchers and practitioners regarding which technique would be more useful in which decision environment, and the different uses of these techniques in the management of human resources.
