Gender inequality creates unequal power relations between men and women, exposing women to various oppression and violence both in the private and public spheres. Violence against women causes a woman to lose her physical, psychological and sexual well-being just because she is a woman, with the unequal power relations and thoughts brought about by gender inequality. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the experiences of women who have experienced at least one type of violence in the context of gender inequality. In this research in which qualitative research technique was used, interviews were conducted with 13 women using the snowball sampling method using the interview form approach. With the semi-structured interview form, a maximum of 45 minutes of interviews were made with the participants and the data obtained were analyzed by content analysis method. As a result of the study, the types of violence and incidents experienced by women are related to the gender roles and inequalities they have been subjected to from childhood to the present, common beliefs and thoughts were adopted by the people who inflicted violence on them, and even by themselves, and the society felt weak, helpless and unhappy after experiencing this violence. It has been observed that they think that the woman is not the 'name' of the woman that she creates gender inequality and supports violence. Thus, it was concluded that gender inequality fosters and supports violence against women and gender equality must be achieved in order to prevent violence against women.
