THE EFFECT OF THE NEW RİGHT PARADİGM ON THE POLİCY MAKİNG PROCESS: ANALYSİS OF 58TH AND 59TH GOVERNMENT PERİODS POLİCY DOCUMENTS

Abstract

This study is a historical periodical study which is conducted in order to determine to what extent the new right paradigm approach that has shaped global politics in the last forty years has been accepted and implemented in Turkey. Since 1980, scientific studies carried out for political powers that apply new right policies in Turkey is quite low. Therefore, the analysis we aim to carry out has the potential to contribute to the literatur. In this context, we will review some public policy documents to associate with new right paradigm the policies of the political party that has ruled our country since the beginning of the 21st century. In this study, documents such as Party and Government Programs, Party Statutes, Election Declaration and EU Progress Reports were analyzed. The most fundamental result is policies of governments 58 and 59 is coherent with the new-right paradigm. In addition, reasons of this determination’s internal and external factors will be review as a methodology of public policy document analysis.
